The Transport Services will organise the municipalities’ transportation services in accordance with the Disability Services Act and Social Welfare Act in the Western Uusimaa District from the autumn onwards. The first rides will be offered in Kirkkonummi in October, after which the service will be extended to cover Espoo and Kauniainen. All the other municipalities in the Western Uusimaa District, i.e. Siuntio, Ingå, Lohja, Raseborg, Hanko, Vihti and Karkkila, will join the scheme in the last phase.
Customers will continue using their current transportation services until the new service provided by the Transport Services becomes available to them. Customers will receive instructions on the use of the new service, new contact information and the date when they should start using the service provided by the Transport Services by letter. A briefing for customers and drivers will also be held in each region before the implementation of the service.
The change will not affect the transport service decisions currently in force, and the service need assessments will be requested from your home municipality as before.
The Transport Services offer transportation services 24/7, every day of the year. The transportation services are intended for people who cannot use public transport services without unreasonable difficulties.
